Blog #1: All About Me
(due Friday, 3/17 by midnight)
1. Please begin by introducing yourself (first name only) and posting some pictures of your “life in action”. Write a couple of paragraphs so I get to know you. Tell me about your work, any activities you are involved in & how you like to spend your free time - what are you passionate about & why?
Kevin
I don’t see how to use this tool to post pictures. Why don’t you provide a real tool?
About me:
Work - Financial Manager
Activities - Reading, working out, walking, running, working hard to make a living
How I spend free time: working out, reading, talking with family.
Passions: Physical fitness, I want to keep my good health.
2. Thinking about your role in the family, what “job title” would you give yourself? Explain why, with examples of how this plays out? How do you feel about this role? Do you think your family would give you the same “job title” or something different – why? How would you ideally like to be seen?
Job Title: Father and Husband
Why: that is what i do in the traditional sense and definition of the family
How Do I Fee About IT: I am proud of it. I am good at both roles and my family is happy with me.
Yes. My family would give me the same title.
I want to be seen as i have described above.
3. Choose 2 people you would consider a personal hero – at least one of them should be a public figure of some sort (they could be from TV/movies/books, sports, business, politics, etc.). Name each person and explain what specifically you admire about them. What does he/she believe & how does he/she behave to reflect that? Why is this important to you?
2 people who are heroes:
My Father
Public Figure - I truethfully don’t have one.
I admire my Father because he was a good hearted man who taught me how to be a good father.
My father believes in hard work and being honest.
This is important to me because I want to have my integrity.
4. Choose 3 Google Images:
a. The first reflecting how you feel about your life right now. Upload the image, describe why you chose it and why you feel that way?
b. The second reflecting what you hope your life will look like in 5-10 years? Describe what you envision, what’s different and why this is important to you?
c. Now, imagine your dream life, where everything that you want/is important to you comes true. Describe how this dream life would be different from your current? Where would you live? What would you do? How would you spend your time? Upload an image (or more if you’d like!) to bring this to life.
I I am happy so I have shown the happy face
My life in 5 years will be a result of hard work

My dream life would be for me to have enough time to spend most of my time at home, so i have shown an image of a home.
5. Last, think about your life, your family and your home in today’s world:
a) In what aspects of your life do you feel the most confident & in control? Describe why you feel that way & what you do that contributes to that feeling.
b) In what aspects of your life do you feel vulnerable, less in control or even fearful? Describe what makes you feel that way? Is there anything you do or could do more of to give you a greater sense of control?
(a) Feel most confident about my family’s happiness since we enjoy each other’s company. I feel this way since we all get along well.
(b) I don’t feel vulnerable. I control my destiny. I am very careful and cautious in my life and take care to not allow bad things to happen.
Welcome, Kevin.
ReplyDeleteThank you for getting your blog started. I'm sorry you are having trouble uploading photos. I have asked for technical assistance for you. Please check for comments and questions from me throughout your blog as we go along. You may respond in the boxes after each post.
Hi Kevin,
ReplyDeleteWhen thinking about your broader community and things you cannot control, or the broader world for example, are there aspects of life in which you do feel vulnerable?
Also, will you please describe what being a husband and father in a traditional sense means to you? How does it play out in your day to day life? What does your role look like in the context of your family life?
Please share about one person you admire in the world beyond your family and answer the questions in Question 3 which correspond? It sounds like your father is someone very important to you. Will you please share an example or two which illustrates who he is, how he behaves and why it is important to you?
Thanks for your time.
1. no i do not feel vulnerable. i can take care of myself and my family
Delete2. being a husband and father means providing for the physical and emotional well being of my family members
3. one person beyond my family that i admire is whoever is the president of the USA. it is a big job and takes a complete focus.
4. my father was the model that i based my response in item 1 above
How specifically do you take care of yourself and your family? Different people do it in different ways. Thank you for clarifying.
ReplyDeleteI take care of myself by staying physically fit, employed and emotionally grounded. I take care of my family by leading by example by doing those things and emphasizing to them the importance of being fit, employed and grounded.
